Lufthansa flight compensation and Reimbursement

Lufthansa flight compensation

Lufthansa passengers are entitled to compensation if their flight is either canceled or delayed for more than 3 hours.   • Flight of 1,500 km or less entitles you to € 250
  • Flight between 1,500 km – 3,500 km entitles you to € 400
  • Flight that is longer than 3,500 km and outside the EU entitles you to € 600

You must have your compensation paid in cash, through a bank check, or as a bank transfer. All other ways to repay the amount must be approved by you in writing. Since they have to pay for all Lufthansa flights, Lufthansa has to pay a lot of compensation overall. Therefore you will find that the airlines will try to avoid paying compensation and come up with excuses for extraordinary circumstances, like bad weather, safety risks, etc. Because, if the reason for the delay is extraordinary circumstances that are outside of the airline’s control, then the airline is not obliged to pay you compensation. But in 60-70 % of cases, the airlines make false rejections.
